A/V Project

My A/V project was on social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, and it's impact on student athletes and the NCAA. For the project I created the script, shot the footage, did the voice over and edited the compiled footage to complete the project. I knew to have credibility I needed to interview administration and athletes. I interviewed Michelle Lee, associate athletic director and head of the NC State Compliance Office, Annabelle Myers, head of NC State Media Relations department, and I interviewed three athletes in Bona Jones, women's cross country, Ryan Hill, men's cross country, and James Robinson, men's track and field. I met with the athletes to get footage of them in an athletic environment. Bona's interview was in the computer lab that the athletes use, Ryan's interview was in the auditorium where the team meets every morning, and I met with James in the weight room where the athletes meet to lift. All of my footage was shot on campus at NC State University. As a sports reporter for Wolf TV, the on-campus television station, I was able to have easy access to a computer with Final Cut Pro software that helped enhance my project. I edited over 33 minutes of footage down to about 3 minutes. My project had faults, such as specific lighting and some resolution issues, but I still enjoyed working on this topic and thought the project came out well. Enjoy!
